Guangqiang Wu, Fellow of SAE and ASME, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering, he received his Ph. D. from Jilin University in July 1994, between August 1994 and August 1996 he was a postdoctor and associate professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, and from September 1996 to May 2000, he was an associate professor in Department of Automotive Engineering, and from June 2000 he has been a full professor, and from April 2002, the Founding Director of Institute for Automotive Simulation Science, Tongji University. From August 2009, he serves as a research professor at Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan, between January and February 2012, he was the visiting professor at Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics, University of Stuttgart, Germany, between July 2012 and September 2016, he was the visiting professor at Automotive Research Center, University of Michigan, USA, Between July and September 2017, he was the visiting professor at Institute of the Institute for Mechatronic Systems in Mechanical Engineering at Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany.

Professor Wu is an evaluation expert for National Science and Technology Awards, Committee Member of Dynamics & Control of Mechanics Society of China, Expert of National Science Foundation Committee of China, Member of System Simulation Committee of CAA, Member of Fluid Transmission and Control Committee, CSME; Load Simulation and Vehicle Performance committee organizer of SAE, Senior member of IEEE and Foresight Expert of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and member of the editorial board of International Journal of ITS Research(Japan), International Journal of Vehicle Performance, Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology etc.

[Research field] His research interests include advanced design and co-simulation, nonlinear system/structure dynamics and control, control and analysis for various kinds transmissions-DCT/AT/HDT/CVT, intelligent driving, Connected and Automated Vehicle & Ground(CAVG), especially autonomous planning, decision making, vehicle dynamics and control.

There are more than 140 Master, Ph. D. students, and postdoctors graduated, ever instructed by him, meantime several French exchange students.

[Achievements]

He has published about 400 scientific papers in famous journals or international conferences including “Nonlinear Dynamics”etc, and about 300 papers of them are included in SCI/EI Indexing Systems, four books(Vehicle Hydrostatic Drive and its Intelligent Control, Vehicle Theory, Automotive Digitalized Development Technology, Ground Vehicle Dynamics), completed 60 national or provincial(included some international scientific and technological cooperation, such as UTC, CONTINENTAL, etc.) projects, own 100 National patents of China, constituted 3 standards for Chinese Automotive Industry, has the honor to win Fok Yingtung Education Foundation Prize, SAE Forest R. McFarland Award, Outstanding Younger Prize of Chinese Automotive Industry, Prominent Scholar of Shanghai, 2007 Innovative Talent Award of GM-Chinese Universities etc., also two Shanghai Invent Awards, five Shanghai Science and Technology Awards and Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Chinese Automotive Industry.

Prof. Wu was also the owner of two Distinguished Teaching Awards of Shanghai Municipality in 2005 and 2009 respectively.

For many times, Prof. Wu ever made the keynote address or invited speech on the important international conferences, such as MOVIC2010(The 10th International Conference on Motion and Vibration Control) and SAE 2014 World Congress, etc.
